Alum Rock Store Destroyed by Fire

It is with great sadness that we share the devastating news about our new Alum Rock store being destroyed by fire. On Monday, September 14th an early morning fire broke out at our newest store at 3020 Alum Rock Avenue.

Our CEO and President, Mike Fox shared with the Mercury News that this Goodwill store was the fifth-top-selling store among 16 outlets in Silicon Valley. Sales figures, he said, were "far exceeding our expectations."

"It's devastating for this community," Fox said. "The Alum Rock community really needed a Goodwill location. We have insurance coverage. But it doesn't go halfway to what the store was providing to the community."

In the meantime we hope that our Goodwill friends in Silicon Valley will continue to donate and shop at our other stores and trailer locations.

Your donations and subsequent proceeds are used to help hundreds of people in the communities we serve.

Goodwill Alum Rock Store Grand Opening

Welcome to What's New In Goodwill Silicon Valley Stores.

We are very proud of what we have done and have given to our local communities. One thing that we are doing now is working very hard to open our new location on Alum Rock ave in the old Reeds Sporting Goods store. This will be our new model store for many new changes to come in the rest of our stores.

This store will have a contemporary ambiance to provide our customers a great shopping experience.

The store is also going to feature a dedicated vintage section as well with new items being offered at affordable prices. You will even be able to buy a Coke or a Red bull when you need energy for those long shopping days.

Our date to be open at this location is July 22nd with the Grand Opening starting on July 25th. Come out and join us for a great Goodwill shopping experience.
